Good News for Bikers? ACCCIM Hails Govt's Cost of Living Measures!
KUALA LUMPUR: Got minyak worries? Well, the Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (ACCCIM) seems pretty happy with the government's latest moves to ease our financial burdens. Looks like it might mean more ringgit in your pocket for that next ride!
ACCCIM believes these measures are a step in the right direction, potentially boosting spending power. Let's dive deeper into what's cooking...

What's in it for Malaysian Riders?
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim recently announced a bunch of initiatives, including:
- RM100 Cash Aid: A one-off RM100 for all Malaysians aged 18 and above. Every little bit helps, kan?
- Toll Freeze: No toll hikes on 10 highways. Another small victory for the everyday rider.
- Rahmah Madani Sales: Continued sales offering essential goods at lower prices.
RON95 Price Drop – The Real Deal?
Here's the kicker: The government says RON95 petrol will drop to RM1.99 per litre when targeted subsidies kick in this September! ACCCIM estimates this will benefit around 18 million car and motorcycle users. But, details on who qualifies are still pending.

Hopefully, it won't be too complicated to get these subsidies. No one wants extra bureaucracy slowing down their weekend ride.
Looking Ahead
ACCCIM is keeping a close eye on the upcoming 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP) and the 2026 Budget, hoping they'll focus on keeping the economy strong.
They also urged the government to hold back on new taxes or policies that could make things tougher for businesses already dealing with higher costs. Fair point!
So, riders, what do you think? Will these measures make a difference to your daily journeys? Let us know in the comments!
