Kantoi! Lorry Driver Stabbed Himself to Cover Up Gambling Losses

George Town – Aduh, macam-macam hal! A lorry driver in Penang tried to pull a fast one on his employer after losing company money to gambling. Instead of owning up, he stabbed himself and claimed he was robbed near Persiaran Minden. Seriously?

The 32-year-old initially claimed three men on a motorcycle attacked him around 7:45 pm while he was heading home, making off with RM3,000 of the company's daily takings. Imagine the panic!

Police Suspicions Aroused

However, Northeast district police chief Assistant Commissioner Abdul Rozak Muhammad smelled something fishy. Investigations revealed the 'robbery' was a total fabrication. The driver had already spent the cash on his gambling addiction. Aiyoyo!

"Based on the report, the victim, a lorry driver, was found covered in blood with stab wounds. But inconsistencies in his story led him to confess he made it all up," said ACP Abdul Rozak.

The knife used was 22.5cm long, causing a 3.5cm wound to the man's stomach. He's currently warded at Penang Hospital in stable condition after surgery. Polis sudah tahan, case selesai!

Employer's Frustration Boils Over

Kelvin Lim, 35, the man's employer, was understandably frustrated. The driver had only been delivering frozen seafood for three months but this wasn’t the first time company funds went missing. This fellow betul-betul bikin susah!

  • First incident: Money 'lost' (claimed as carelessness).
  • Second and third incidents: Admitted using the money to pay a friend's debt.

"Yesterday, I got a call saying he was stabbed and robbed! One of my workers found a knife in his stomach. He was quickly sent to the hospital," Lim recounted.

The Aftermath

The case is being investigated under Section 182 of the Penal Code for providing false information. What a waste of police time and resources! Lesson learned: jangan main judi, nanti susah.
