KL Cops Issue Warning to 42,000 Traffic Offenders – Raya Rush Crackdown Coming Soon!
Kuala Lumpur PDRM is putting its foot down! Over 42,000 road users have been cautioned since last week as part of “Op Patuh Undang-Undang”. Consider this a final *ingatan mesra* before the authorities start issuing summonses on October 1st. Better buckle up, *mat motor* and *minah kereta*!

City police chief Datuk Fadil Marsus stressed this isn't a sign of leniency. Think of it as a chance to *ubah sikap* before facing the music. “We will begin all-out enforcement on errant motorists by Oct 1,” he stated.
Datuk Fadil also mentioned that the public has been given ample time to follow traffic laws since the operation began on September 6th.
Motorcyclists Top the Offender List
According to Deputy Police Chief Datuk Mohamed Usuf Jan Mohamad, motorcyclists take the *juara* spot with 19,672 advocacy notices issued! Car drivers follow closely behind at 18,058. Notices were also handed out to van drivers, lorry drivers, taxi drivers and pedestrians.
“The figures show that traffic violations remain widespread and require constant monitoring. Through advocacy, we aim to remind all road users that safety begins with discipline on the road,” - Datuk Mohamed Usuf Jan Mohamad.
Common Traffic Offences
So, what exactly are people getting pulled over for? Here's the breakdown:
- Traffic obstruction: 18,169 notices
- Running traffic lights: 9,897 notices
- Ignoring pedestrian crossings: 4,186 notices
- Stopping in yellow boxes: 2,328 notices
- Non-compliant number plates: 3,186 notices
- Failure to wear motorcycle helmets: 1,633 notices
- Modified motorcycles (especially exhaust): 872 notices
- Failure to wear seatbelts: 259 notices
- Vehicles stopping beyond the white line at junctions: 1,758 notices
Looks like illegal mods, especially those loud exhausts that wake up the entire *kampung*, are on the radar. Also, *ingat*, safety first – always wear your helmet and buckle up!
Datuk Usuf emphasized that no one should take the police's current approach lightly. Heed the warnings, fellas!
