PJ police unleash drones to crack down on motorcycle lane violations
PJ Police Using Drones to Catch Federal Highway Motorcycle Lane Offenders!
Oi riders! Think you can potong queue and skip the motorcycle lane on the Federal Highway? Think again! Polis PJ are now using drones to spot you from the sky!

ACP Shahrulnizam Ja'afar, the OCPD for Petaling Jaya, mentioned that this op is all about reducing accidents involving our kapcai brothers and sisters, especially the serious ones on the ever-busy Federal Highway.
"We're working with the PGU (Police Air Unit) and using drones. Once we see someone violating the lane rules from the drone's view, we'll issue a summon right there and then!" - ACP Shahrulnizam Ja'afar.
Even if you manage to escape the on-the-spot fine, don't think you're in the clear. They're recording plate numbers and sending summonses directly to your doorstep. Padan muka!
ACP Shahrulnizam appeals to all riders to use the designated motorcycle lanes, no matter how jem or leceh they might be. He acknowledges that some sections of the lane are not ideal. Some areas are dark at night, and banjir during heavy rain. But hey, keselamatan first!
During the operation, 47 summonses were issued, with 16 of them thanks to the drone's keen eye. Within just 30 minutes, 32 riders were caught. Aiyo!
Most of the summonses were for not using the motorcycle lanes under Section 79(2) of the Road Transport Act 1987. The PJ police are responsible for about 16km of the highway.
Remember geng, 70% of fatal accidents in PJ involve motorcyclists. So, buckle up (or helmet up!), follow the rules, and ride safe! These operations with drones will continue from time to time. Jangan buat pasal!
