Mat Rempit Wannabe? Polis Hunt Thief After Gombak Gold Heist
KUALA LUMPUR: Polis are on the lookout for a suspect who allegedly snatched a gold bracelet from a jewellery shop in Prima Sri Gombak yesterday. The incident, caught on CCTV, shows the man making a quick getaway on a motorcycle – typical Mat Rempit style?

Assistant Commissioner Noor Ariffin Mohamad Nasir, Gombak police chief, confirmed they received a report at 8:49 pm. Investigations suggest the incident happened around 5:50 pm.
According to the police report, the suspect, pretending to be a loving husband, entered the shop and said he wanted to buy a gold chain for his wife.
"The suspect selected a gold bracelet. While the sales assistant went to grab a calculator, he grabbed the bracelet and ran," said AC Noor Ariffin in a statement. Looks like someone needed that gold more than his 'wife'.
He then escaped on a waiting motorcycle. Details are still sketchy, but the police are working hard to track him down.
The Getaway Ride
While the police haven't released specific details about the motorcycle, CCTV footage circulating online shows the suspect speeding off on what appears to be a kapcai. Did he modify it for a quicker escape?
