Malaysian Automotive Sales: May 2025 - Perodua Still King, Tesla Makes a Move!
Alright, Malaysian petrolheads, let's dive into the latest car sales figures for May 2025! According to JPJ's data, Perodua is still dominating the market, proving that Malaysians love their Myvis and Axias.
Perodua clocked in a whopping 31,398 registrations, bringing their year-to-date (YTD) total to 143,860 units. Confirming their target of 350,000 for the year is on track!
Proton came in second with 12,751 units, followed by Toyota with 11,183 registrations. Honda secured fourth place with 6,065 cars. These are the big boys, all with five-digit YTD numbers except Perodua's six-digit achievement.
Interestingly, the top seven brands maintained their positions from April 2025. Jaecoo, the new kid on the block, held onto fifth place with 1,768 units.
Electric Vehicles: Tesla Surges Ahead
The EV scene is getting more exciting! Tesla had a fantastic month, jumping to eighth place with 1,075 registrations.
